This is my chosen image for the ‘Friend’ element of the Portraiture brief. I liked this image because I feel that it is relaxed and natural, with the complimentary colours allowing Lilli to stand out but also takes into account her surroundings. I added a contrast to the original image to amplify the connection of colours between the brick wall, her scarf and her hair, while her face stands out and becomes the main focus of the image. The textures of this image are expressed, similarly to the work of Benoit Paille that I looked at, where every little detail is visible to the eye, which is what I like in portraiture photography. To improve, I feel like I could have used the lighting better to make it more even on her face and neck.
